COMPLAINTS – MediTrain has a formal process for student complaints to manage and respond to which is available upon request. (Also available on our website and in the student induction materials)
Complaints can include allegations involving the conduct of:
a. The RTO, its trainers, assessors or other staff
b. A third party providing services on the RTO’s behalf, it’s trainers, assessors or other staff (Not Relevant for MediTrain as we have no Third Party Agreements) or
c. A learner of the RTO
APPEALS – MediTrain have a formal process for student appeals to manage requests for a review of decisions, including assessment decisions, made by the RTO.
PROCEDURE – Any student who has a complaint or appeal should initially approach their trainer to express their concern as soon as possible. The trainer will endeavor to resolve the concern. If unresolved, the student should complete a Complaints/Appeals Form. The concern will then be assessed by the Director who will endeavor to resolve
the issue.
All complaints/appeals will be acknowledged in writing as soon as practicable after the issue is raised and at all times open communication via email / in writing will take place.
All communications will be logged in the trainer folder and the continuous improvement
log.
If after the initial discussion with the trainer and the subsequent Complaints/Appeals Form completed and assessed by the Director the concern is still unresolved, an independent person or panel for review (Independent of the RTO and the complainant or appellant, at the request of the individual making the complaint or appeal) will be
nominated to deal with the concern. The student will be able to formally present his/her case if they choose to do so and will be able to nominate another person of their choosing to attend. A written statement of the outcome will be provided to the student which will include the reasons for the decision. The entire procedure should take no
more than 14 days.
If at any stage more than 60 days are required to process and finalise the complaint or appeal, MediTrain will:
a. inform the complainant or appellant in writing, including reasons why more than 60 calendar days are required, and
b. regularly update the complainant or appellant on the progress of the matter.
If the student is still unhappy with the outcome, the concern will be referred to the Training Accreditation Council for further action.
MediTrain’s complaints/appeals policy:
a. ensures the principles of natural justice and procedural fairness are adopted at every stage of the complaint and appeal process
b. are publicly available (Available to view on the website and in the student induction materials)
c. set out the procedure for making a complaint or requesting an appeal (As above)
d. ensure complaints and requests for an appeal are acknowledged in writing and finalised as soon as practicable, and
e. provide for review by an appropriate party independent of the RTO and the complainant or appellant, at the request of the individual making the complaint or appeal, if the processes fails to resolve the complaint or appeal.
MediTrain record all complaints and appeals received in the appropriate trainer folder, and document all details and outcomes in our Continuous Improvement log. This information allows us to identify potential causes of complaints and appeals and allows us to take appropriate corrective action to eliminate or mitigate the likelihood of reoccurrence used to review our processes and practices to ensure the issue doesn’t happen again.
Students are welcome to access their records at any time. Please feel free to ask your trainer or contact Elizabeth Davis, Managing Director on 1300 883 945.

Referring to your Program of Work and Assessment Guidelines will direct you as to the session you will be required to complete. Should there be any delay in submission, please advise your trainer ASAP by email to arrange an extension if needed. Late submissions with no previous contact or arrangement made may incur a late fee as the trainer will not be able to complete the appropriate marking and documentation within the required time frames. Please refer to the Administration Fees in this booklet.
It is important that you keep a copy of all assessments as MediTrain will hold a minimum of 2 students assessments for each unit delivered. You will receive feedback as to your outcome; however the marked work may be retained for audit purposes.
Submission guidelines and assessment requirements are outlined for each unit and are contained in this booklet. Please ensure to read thoroughly and ask any questions should you need further clarification.
